Visibility work is easy to oversell, because the numbers are noisy. Rankings move daily and AI answers change from one ask to the next. Here is a calmer way to see whether things are getting better.

Track what you control

  • Which fixes were actually made, and on what date
  • Which customer questions now have a clear answer on your site
  • Whether your listings and website show the same facts

Check outcomes on a schedule

Pick a fixed set of questions, ask them in search and in an AI assistant, and record what you see on the same day each month. Note the date, the tool and the wording. Repeating the same checks is what makes the comparison fair.

Label how you know

Mark each observation as automated (a tool measured it), manual (a person looked) or estimate (a judgement). Do not present an estimate as a measurement, and do not treat one good day as a trend.

Watch the business, not just the screen

The result that matters is whether more of the right people contact you. Ask new customers how they found you and keep a simple tally. It is rough, but it is real.
